It is with a heavy heart and much saddness that I announce the closing of The Garden. I appreciate all the many years we were able to play and the support of all our players. However, given the current economy and some upcoming life financial obligations, I can no longer justify the nearly $140 a month expense to fund the Shard. I have been the basically the sole financial supporter for the last two years, with the exception of a few player donations from time to time. In the past I was in a better financial condition to meet this cost without it negatively affecting my other obligations, but things have changed with my health and that of my partner which affects my ability to continue this discretionary expense.

I apologize, as I know this will become a shock to many of you. I hope you will forgive me, and find another home among the freeshards.

We are paid up through the end of the month, so I will leave us up until around the 27th. The Forum will be up longer so that people can post if they find a new home, and where you can social network for a time.
