RULES AND CODE OF CONDUCT

Introduction: 

We are never going to be able to define every situation or even enforce punishment where we feel a player should be on notice as to what is acceptable in in-game play.  As such, we have compiled this short list of rules and code of conduct in an effort to list some of the most critical items, but we have also added a disclaimer at the end. 

Some items previously defined to death (luring, scamming, and camping) have been specifically removed but should be covered by the heading “respect staff and other players”.  We will deal with each situation based upon facts and circumstances surrounding the event.  Punishment will be dealt with as a private matter between Staff and the player. 

Rules:

1. Have fun!

2. There is only 1 account allowed per person.

3. Respect Staff and all other players.  Harassment of any form including gender, race, religion, and age etc. will get you jailed, and/or banned from the shard.

4. Public Chat is to be kept clean and respectful. We wish to maintain a family environment so please keep chat to what would be considered casual adult talk.  Anything beyond that should be kept to PM.

5. No exploiting will be tolerated. If you get caught using an exploit you will be jailed, and/or banned. Also if you should discover an exploit and report it to staff we will be more then glad to reward you. We would much rather reward you then to punish you.

6. Macroing is allowed with two restrictions:  No attended or unattended macroing within town limits, and you must set your macro to an eight second delay, unless spoken words or phrases are included in the macro, then it must be set to a ten second delay.  If your house is a static within a town limits, you will not be able to macro within your own house.

7. PvP (Player versus Player) is allowed only within the Felucca facet.  WARNING: Staff advises you to use caution when meeting an unknown player(s) in Felucca.  There are those from time to time that would prey on the unsuspecting and trusting. We also consider the chopping of another player’s body part of the PvP aspect and therefore only allowed in Felucca. 

8. Donations and Donators are important to the shard and as such we reward them from the donation list.  However, being a donator does not grant you more rights than someone that does not donate. It is also does not count as a “get out of jail/ban” free card should you do something that warrants being punished.

9. "UO Extreme" is illegal - if you are caught using this program, or any other program which allows you to gain unfair advantage over other players or the system you will be banned immediately and irrevocably. If someone else is using this program on your account, no questions asked - your account will be banned. Razor is allowed. Auto-loot scripts, and Auto-grab scripts are not allowed in any Events.

10. You may not use the Shard or the Shard forums for any activities other than activities that are permitted within the game world. Examples include but are not limited to: You may not market, promote or advertise anything, or make any other forms of solicitation (including pyramid schemes, chain letters and other shards) with the exception of Garden in-game items.   

11. You will not attempt to interfere with, hack into, or decipher any messages to or from the servers running the Garden Shard, website or forums. All accesses to these servers are logged. All hack attempts will be investigated and reported to the authorities.

12. If by chance you do discover the name(s) of staff member’s characters please keep them SECRET!! Revealing the name (or names) of staff members characters will get you banned.

13. Do not attempt to impersonate another player. While duplicate character names can happen by accident, do not purposely create a new character using another player’s name. If this does happen that character will be jailed until a staff member can meet with you to arrange for a new name. Continually creating characters to impersonate other players will most likely get you jailed and/or banned.

Overall, please remember: 

Staff reserves the right to jail, ban, or delete any account found to be in violation of the rules and code of conduct. 

In addition, we do reserve the right to change and update the rules as situations arise that would require us to do so.
