| It is with a heavy heart and much saddness that I announce the closing of The Garden. I appreciate all the many years we were able to play and the support of all our players. However, given the current economy and some upcoming life financial obligations, I can no longer justify the nearly $140 a month expense to fund the Shard. I have been the basically the sole financial supporter for the last two years, with the exception of a few player donations from time to time. In the past I was in a better financial condition to meet this cost without it negatively affecting my other obligations, but things have changed with my health and that of my partner which affects my ability to continue this discretionary expense.
I apologize, as I know this will become a shock to many of you. I hope you will forgive me, and find another home among the freeshards.
We are paid up through the end of the month, so I will leave us up until around the 27th. The Forum will be up longer so that people can post if they find a new home, and where you can social network for a time.

| RC2 Will REQUIRE you to have patched your client up to 6.0.0.0 at least, and not higher than 6.0.5.0 (ish).
If you happen to be unable to patch, I have uploaded the complete UO including patch 6.0.0.0 for you to be able to download.

It has been broken down into 7 parts, so that those with dialup might be able to get it all.
You -=MUST=- get all 7 files before trying to extract, as it is a self extracting archive.
If you want to keep your macros, be sure to backup the Desktop folder found in your EAGames directory. You can then delete or uninstall UO. Extract the 7-part uo file into your EA folder and you should be set.
-=PLEASE NOTE=- the first time you run UO after this it WILL try to patch. Just cancel it and it wont try again.
Since RC2 requires this patch, those of you that are still using UOGateway will be unable to continue using it.
I have uploaded a copy of ConnectUO for you to be able to use. It has the Garden and all its patches pre-installed so you should not have to fight the web-farm crash worries that ConnectUO suffered a while back. You may need to DL the Garden Patch.rar file, rename it to patch.rar and put in the ConnectUO\servers\The%20Garden folder to overwrite. If you do not see a new login screen, you wont see the new artwork in game.

For those of you with ML and ConnectUO already up to date and working, I have uploaded a file so that you can have the patches also. You can find that file here:

To install the patches, simply unpack them into your CUO servers folder. If you are using the CUO provided thru the link above, that would be here:
\Program Files\ConnectUO\Profiles\Default\Servers\The%20Garden
If you are using ConnectUODesktop, you would unpack here:
\Program Files\ConnectUO Desktop\Servers\The%20Garden
For those of you that use razor to log in, you will need to check the gardenpatch file for what files are changed, then locate those same files in your EAGames (or UOfolder *points at Celebrian*) directory and back them up. (If you play more than one shard, you may consider a spare copy of EAGames so that your other shards are not affected by the Garden Patches.) Once you back these up, you then unpack these files into:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Ultima Online Samurai Empire
or wherever you have EAGames installed.

| We are going to give it a test, but we are Open Account for the time being. This means you do not need to complete an application to join The Garden.

| RunUO 2.0 Move is here! | posted by: circe |
| Tomorrow (April 16th) at 10 am central time we will open the shard public. You will just log in as you normally would, same account name/password. Once you have logged in and created your first toon, page to get your skills/stats and items returned. This will take time for each of you as you know so please be patient.
